Unrestrained in risk-taking: Paul Brest says philanthropy has a unique societal role to take the risks others won’t
“Philanthropy has an opportunity to take risks that almost no other part of our society can,” says Paul Brest. He cites two reasons: “We don't depend on funds from other people and government regulations don't affect our ability to take risks.”
