
Kate Collins
Principal, Washington DC HubKate Collins is a principal in Bridgespan’s Washington, D.C. hub. She recently rejoined Bridgespan in 2025 with a focus on impact investing, climate, and global development. She previously worked with Bridgespan from 2017 to 2021, advising clients such as ABC World Asia, LimeRock New Energy Partners, and TPG Rise Fund, as well as foundations and family offices designing early-stage funds and climate strategies. Kate’s work spans sectors including agriculture, energy, access to finance, education, and workforce preparation, with experience across Asia, Africa, and the Middle East. She has worked in Bridgespan’s Boston, Mumbai, and Washington, DC offices.
Most recently, Kate served as managing director for portfolio strategy at the U.S. International Development Finance Corporation (DFC), the U.S. government’s $60B impact investing arm for private sector development in emerging markets. At the DFC, she led a major strategic overhaul and reorganized the agency, while also helping structure investment portfolios across sectors such as health, energy, and infrastructure. This work included developing a blended portfolio for the agency. Earlier in her career, Kate worked at Bain & Company, the Council on Foreign Relations, and on the ground in Malawi and Kenya building climate and agriculture financing mechanisms for smallholder farmers.
Kate holds an MBA from MIT Sloan and an MPA from Harvard Kennedy School. She graduated Phi Beta Kappa from Johns Hopkins University. She serves as an advisor to Aceli Africa, which provides first-loss capital to unlock agricultural finance in East Africa and is a term member at the Council on Foreign Relations. She lives in Washington, DC with her family.
