Julia Standish-White
Manager, JohannesburgJulia Standish-White is a manager in Bridgespan’s Johannesburg office. Since joining Bridgespan in 2021, she has advised NGO clients working in various fields and areas of expertise including education, technology for social good, and social behaviour change. Julia has also supported philanthropists to develop their African investment strategies and portfolios. Example clients include Girl Effect, TaRL Africa, Ushahidi, and a global funding collaborative. She also recently co-authored a report titled, How African NGOs Grow, which explored the funding models of over 30 African NGOs that have scaled their funding.
Prior to Bridgespan, Julia worked at Africa’s largest economics-based consultancy, Genesis Analytics. During her time there, she was a project manager on a 17-country research study for the International Planned Parenthood Federation, conducting client exit interviews for FCDO’s flagship family planning programme. Julia also worked on projects relating to health, e-commerce, financial services, and South Africa’s response to COVID-19. She holds an MSc in Evidence-based Social Intervention and Policy Evaluation from the University of Oxford and a Psychology Honours degree from the University of Cape Town. She is an Oxford Weidenfeld Hoffman and Mandela Rhodes Scholar. Julia presented the findings of her master’s dissertation at the SAAIDS Conference in 2019.
