BOSTON, MA—April 24, 2020—The Bridgespan Group today announced that Ann Mei Chang, author of Lean Impact: How to Innovate for Radically Greater Social Good, will become the next Bridgespan Fellow.

A leading expert on social innovation who brings together unique insights from her extensive work across the tech industry, government, and nonprofits, Ms. Chang previously served as chief innovation officer at USAID.  There, she was the first executive director of the US Global Development Lab, engaging the best practices for innovation from Silicon Valley to accelerate the impact and scale of solutions to the world’s most intractable challenges. She was also previously the chief innovation officer at Mercy Corps and served the US Department of State as Senior Advisor for Women and Technology in the Secretary's Office of Global Women’s Issues. 

As a Bridgespan Fellow, Ms. Chang will work with Bridgespan teams applying her expertise to:

• Collaborate with Bridgespan to co-author and update practical resources for nonprofit and philanthropic organizations on Lean Impact principles and practices for building innovation capacity
• Provide input on ongoing Bridgespan research related to innovation in the social sector
• Advise Bridgespan on relevant client work, particularly for organizations that seek to innovate and increase their agility in response to the COVID-19 crisis
